What is Keezbord?

Like ludo, but with cards instead of dice

Keezbord is the much-loved Dutch game of keezen, made into a beautiful board. Instead of rolling a dice you play cards, so every turn is a choice. Most games are played in teams, so you'll be plotting with your partner across the table.

It's easy to learn in one game and full of "oh no you didn't!" moments. Our staff play it at home, which is how we ended up bringing it to the UK.

The basics

How to play

1Deal the cardsEveryone gets a hand of cards. Partners sit opposite each other.
2Play a card, move a pawnThe card's number is how far you move. Special cards get pawns out, swap places or move backwards.
3Knock them homeLand on an opponent and they go back to the start. Keep an eye on your partner's pawns too!
4Get your team homeThe first team to get all their pawns safely home wins.
